Amongst the pile of Hotchkiss parts are a lot of Veteran wire spoke wheel rims. They vary in sizes. From family history we understand that these were all new and not used or fitted with tyres. My research shows that Messrs. Adeney and Brodribb Hotchkiss Motors were active in Melbourne in 1910. Quoting from Trove “Punch Thu. 8 Sept 1910” p17. However, a year later they are referenced as Brodribb Brothers. Quoting from Trove “Punch Thu 7 Sept 1911.” p17. (Note, I have not copy/pasted the dates. The similarity in references a year apart is eerie!)
Apparently both Max and Jock Howden were acquaintances of Brodribb. At some point 1920-ish there was a fire that damaged the premises and Jock purchased a job lot of fire damaged wire wheels. The damage was superficial with the black paint scorched and flaking as a result. The wheels were dry stored in Box Hill, prior to be relocated in 1970 again dry-stored. Most of the wheel rims were sold off over the years. Dad guessed at 100+ wheel rims in total. These are what remains.

Also included in the photos are other wheels, wheel hubs, rotted wooden spokes and all. No idea what they will fit.
All of this was current as at August 2025 and things may have changed since then.
